The Shack by William P Young. A grieving father receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him to meet in the Oregon wilderness where his daughter was abducted and murdered. Against his better judgment, Mack arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant, The Shack wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" Have you read it? What do you think?

Yes, I have read this book. It makes you think outside the box. While I wouldn't say it was "theologically" accurate - I would agree that God is God and could/would do whatever is necessary to get our attention. Afterall, what could be stranger than God in a manger? Yet, He did that to prove His love to us!
The Shack was a real surprise! Very thought provocking... Although it is fiction, it certainly provides some very unique concepts to ponder. It is good to remember that we cannot put God in a "box".

My wife and I have both now read it, and agree that it's the best book we're read in a while! It's about forgiveness, healing and most of relationship. I'm getting the audio version for a friend of mine who lost his wife suddenly a few years ago. I recommend it highly!
