God Bless America

It is almost the 4th of July; the "birthday" of America. Consider how God "shed his grace" on the birth of our nation. Here at The Lighthouse and at http://www.lighthousebooksource.com/ we have "Battlefields and Blessings" a wonderful series of devotional books that remind us of our freedoms here in America and the sacrifices others have made to make that freedom possible!

-Stories of faith and courage from America's Revolutionary War features inspiring accounts from the lives of patriots who looked heavenward in the times of conflict. Through era letters, diaries and sermons, plus scripture and a brief prayer, each day explores timeless themes.

The others in this series are on the Civil War, WWII, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the newest is on firefighters and first responders.

As we celebrate America let us never forget those who have made our country possible. Nor those that are still serving...

Summer reading "treasure" program

Books are a treasure! Sign up your child(ren) ages 5-12 for our summer reading "treasure" program and get your "treasure" list at The Lighthouse. Each child must read 12 books between June 26-August 28. Record titles on your "treasure" sheet. Bring your filled sheet in by Sept. 11th and go on a "treasure hunt" in the Lightouse. Everyone "wins."
