Final report on OCC

We just wanted to report that The Lighthouse made it's goal of 2500 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Actually 2584 for the final count! Thank you one and all for your love in a box. Without you we never could reach this many children around the world with the love of Christ!

It's a wrap! Today we received an email stating that the new movie "Courageous" is done filming! "Courageous" is from Sherwood Pictures, the makers of Flywheel, Facing the Giants, and Fireproof. God Bless America

It is almost the 4th of July; the "birthday" of America. Consider how God "shed his grace" on the birth of our nation. Summer reading "treasure" program

Books are a treasure! Sign up your child(ren) ages 5-12 for our summer reading "treasure" program and get your "treasure" list at The Lighthouse. Each child must read 12 books between June 26-August 28. Record titles on your "treasure" sheet. Bring your filled sheet in by Sept. 11th and go on a "treasure hunt" in the Lightouse. Everyone "wins."

Book Signing

The final details need to be figured out, but it's official.... Christa Parrish's (our local author) husband, Chris Coppernoll, will be coming to The Lighthouse for a book signing. If you have not read any of Chris' fiction works, get one today. He has written Providence, A Beautiful Fall and Screen Play. We just read Screen Play and it is definitely a well written book. It was interesting that he wrote the book from the main character's point of view, a woman's point of view. Think that a man can't write what a woman would think? Think again! Letters to God

This week some of us from The Lighthouse went to see the movie "Letters to God" down at Crossgates Mall. What an incredible movie! Bring your tissues. You'll need them.

Field Trip

Calvary Preschool (Glens Falls) came to The Lighthouse Gifts, Books & Music for an Easter Field Trip. The children enjoyed an interactive storytime, and activity that they got to take home and snack. Eggbert and Woofer the Watchdog made cameo apppearances, much to the children's delight! Have you considered The Lighthouse for a field trip? Let us know if we can do a storytime for your group!

To Save A Life

The movie had a great opening weekend and has been extended until April 8. Please go see this movie and take a teen or young adult with you!

The Park Theatre, 14 Park Street, Glens Falls will be showing the movie To Save a Life beginning March 26 - April 1. The movie will be shown daily at 4:00 and 7:00. Please support this movie. Pray for the movie to touch lives and open hearts to the Gospel.

There are new books by some of our favorite authors that have either just released or are about to. "Her Mother's Hope" the first of the epic 2 part saga by Francine Rivers has just released. "Take Three" the next in the Above the Line series by Karen Kingsbury is due out at the end of the month! Saturday, March 13 at 1:30pm we are sponsoring the showing of Pistachio: Father nose best. This is the latest VeggieTales! Showing at the Crandall Library, Glen Street, Glens Falls. Call the Crandall Library for more details and ticket information!

Saturday, March 20 from 9am-3pm there will be a community Festival of Praise entitled, "Singing for Someone Else's Supper." This will be held at Christ Church on the corner of Bay and Washington, Glens Falls, NY. Bring a non-perishable food item to support local food pantries. And cash donation will be for Christ Church Saturday Suppers and the Open Door Soup Kitchen.

Friday, March 26 the movie, To Save A Life will be showing at the new Park Theatre on Park Street in Glens Falls. This movie has rave reviews and is highly recommended for youth workers and youth groups.

Saturday. March 27 we will be having another Cookie Swap and Share. Bring some cookies. Take some cookies. It's an excellent time to share Christ's love with Seniors, shut-ins, etc.

We are all shocked and disturbed by the terrible calamity in Haiti. Life as that country knows it has forever changed.
